Fever Reducers

Sometimes you either don't want to take over the counter medications or don't want to take them, but you still need to know how to handle a fever safely.

  • Peppercorn and Basil tea. This may not sound very appetizing but both help to regulate the body's temperature.
  • Cool wet socks on ankles. Basically anything that helps you to dump excess body heat will help.
  • Lukewarm bath. Ask someone who is not ill to draw you a bath that way you don't get it too hot. The cool bath will help you to dump lots of excess body heat quickly.
  • Lemon balm and Honey tea. A much tastier version of the first tea and an easier sell to picky adults and children.
Just remember to monitor your body temperature hourly up to every 15 min if the fever is high and seek medical attention if the fever reaches over 103.5 as 104-105 can be fatal.
